A thorough assessment of bone health, including important indicators of bone formation and resorption, is provided by the Osteo Screen Panel 1 test.

Patients with a history of bone fractures or metabolic bone disorders, postmenopausal women, and those at risk for osteoporosis are advised to take it.

Alkaline phosphatase, calcium, vitamin D, and other markers of bone health are measured in a blood sample.

Typical values: Encourage a healthy metabolism of bones.

Unusual values could be a sign of metabolic bone disease, osteoporosis, or osteopenia.
