Toxoplasma IgM

This test detects IgM antibodies to Toxoplasma gondii, a parasite that can cause toxoplasmosis.

It helps diagnose recent or acute toxoplasmosis, especially in pregnant women or immunocompromised patients.

A blood sample is tested using ELISA or chemiluminescent assays to detect IgM antibodies specific to the parasite.

Positive IgM suggests recent infection. However, confirmatory tests may be required due to possible false positives.

No fasting or special preparation is needed.
